Please feel free to use our "Shipping Instructions/ Comment" line on the order form to let us know if you have any special shipping requests. Do not use this line to request your order be shipped at a particular time during the day. We do not control your delivery person's schedule. If you need to arrange something, speak with your delivery person. |
| Recycling | Out of respect for our environment recycled materials are used whenever possible in our store, office and shipping room. This includes any paper, 'peanuts', bubble wrap, cartons, etc. |
| Processing & Shipping Times |
Order processing time and shipping time are two different things. Delivery time does not include the time it takes for us to process an order. For example - 'Next Day Air' does not mean your package will arrive the day after you place your order. Time is needed for us to first process your order and then get it to the carrier's office. See our 'Ordering' page for details on order processing times. Call or email us for estimated shipping times. |
| Tracking Deliveries |
Only US Express Mail and UPS
deliveries can be tracked in detail. If you prefer First-class Mail or
Priority Mail for your package and you want a tracking number, add US
Signature Confirmation (below). Signature Confirmation lets you see
when the package was mailed, who signed for it & when, delivery
attempts made, etc. It does not list expected delivery date/ time or
progress during travel. If a tracking number is available for your package, it will be emailed to you once it leaves Avalon Moon. If you would like us to check the tracking status for you, just give us a call. |
| Signing for Deliveries |
To keep our
prices low and to continue to offer free shipping, most orders must be signed for at point of delivery. This
especially includes addresses with an apartment #, a suite #, or where 'deliver to'
and 'ordered by' are different. Express Mail must be signed for and sometimes Priority Mail
& UPS parcels must also be signed for. If you will not be available to sign for your parcel, you
can leave a signed note for your delivery person to leave the parcel in a
specific location. They may leave you a post card informing you of a second delivery attempt date
or where to pick your parcel up. If you do not claim your parcel within a few days it will be
returned to Avalon Moon. If your order needs to be signed for at time of delivery, you will be notified in your shipping confirmation email. |
| Returned Deliveries |
If an order is returned to Avalon Moon through fault of the customer ("unclaimed", "undeliverable", "package refused", "no such person/ address", etc.), shipping fees will apply to ALL orders that need to be reshipped. If the merchandise is returned to stock, shipping fees will not be refunded, and a restocking fee may be charged. |
| Shipping Confirmation Emails |
We will email you within 24 hours of your order being shipped to let you know your new items are on their way. If a tracking # is available for your package or if a signature will be required to receive your parcel, it will be included in the email. |

Avalon Moon offers shipping with US Mail and UPS. We do prefer shipping with US Mail. Their rates are less expensive as compared to UPS and we & our customers have been quite impressed with their delivery reliability, speed and service. (Some orders shipped First-class have been received within two days when shipped half way across the US!) | ||||||||||||||

Free Shipping |
* Free shipping is available when items are shipped to an address inside the United States using US Mail. Free shipping is not an option for orders being shipped outside the United States. Shipping fees apply to all other regions and shippers. Please note: The free shipping option must be selected & recalculated on the shopping cart page in order to receive free shipping. |

Default Shipping Rate |
When placing an order on-line, be sure to choose your preferred shipping option on the shopping cart page and click recalculate. If no shipping option is selected & recalculated in the shopping cart, the default shipping fee is $3. This default $3 shipping fee can be avoided simply by choosing a shipping option in the shopping cart and clicking the "Recalculate" button before submitting your order. 'Default Shipping' orders are sent via US Mail - 1st Class Mail, Media Mail or Parcel Post depending on weight and content. |

Although it's very rare for a package to be lost in shipping, any order shipped uninsured via US Mail that is lost in shipping is at the customer's expense. If you would like your US Mail parcel to be insured add Shipping Insurance to your cart. This option does not offer a tracking number. | Duties & Excise Tax |
International customers will be required to pay duties and excise taxes once your parcel reaches the country's customs office. Since these amounts are unknown to Avalon Moon, contact the country of destination customs office for fees. | ||||
